Plot
A great theme, developed with respect and admirable measure for a blockbuster that traces of Jesus of Nazareth's life, from his humble birth to teaching years, from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection. This film, which cost twenty million dollars, an enormous sum for the time, in 1965, has received five Oscar nominations.
The film follows the life of Jesus, faithful to the narration of the four gospels and begins with the arrival of the Magi. Then continue with the wrath of Erode il grande, the Adoration of the Magi in the cave of Bethlehem, the massacre of the innocents, the flight into Egypt, the revolts of the Jews in Jerusalem after Herod's death, repressed in blood by the Roman legions, the Jesus' baptism in the Jordan river, the disciples, the preaching and miracles, the death of Giovanni Battista, the resurrection of Lazarus, the triumphal entry of Jesus in Jerusalem, the expulsion of the merchants from the temple, the last supper, the betrayal of Giuda Iscariota,
